Infracoders Melbourne November Meetup
About
Infrastructure Coders
Hi Infracoders!
Atlassian are excited to host the Infracoders meetup in November, at their nearly 1-year-old Melbourne office!
We usually have 2 technical talks per meetup. Commencing at 6pm, we will be finished by 8pm.
There will be a delegation afterwards to a licensed venue for an informal Post Meetup Review with your hosts & fellow attendees.
Presentation 1. Jeffrey Aven (StackQL Studios) // Stateless IaC for Agents: stackql-deploy
stackql-deploy is an open-source, SQL-native IaC tool backed by the stackql engine. It has no state file: it queries the live cloud control plane with SQL and runs idempotent existence checks, state checks and create or update operations against the provider directly.
With your cloud APIs exposed as a self-discoverable data layer, agents can query before they mutate, work inside policy gates, and use one interface for both provisioning and SRE tasks such as cost analysis, posture checks and incident triage. Patterns for safe agent access to the control and data planes are covered, followed by a live demo.
Presentation 2. Tina & Johnson (Atlassian) // CD at Atlassian: How we prevent complex deployments from spinning out of control.
Tina and Johnson will give a quick talk on how we keep Atlassian services deploying safely and reliably in a multi-cloud, multi-boundary deployment environment. The first part will focus on how we set up safe deployment pipelines across the company, while in the second part, we will walk through Sliver, Atlassian’s method of providing our developers with an easy way to deploy with complex topologies.
