Preamble

By joining DevOpsChat, you accept this Code of Conduct and Slack's User Agreement. We reserve the right to terminate accounts for violations of these guidelines.

Guidelines Principles

Our community guidelines are designed to:

Create a friendly and welcoming atmosphere

Free Speech

We recognize that DevOps and technology topics can lead to passionate debates. While we encourage open discussion, harassment or personal attacks will result in community action. All members must participate responsibly and respectfully.

Violations Policy

Actions for guideline violations may include warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent account bans. Please note that this policy is not exhaustive, and we reserve the right to take action on behaviors not explicitly listed here.

Advertising

Prohibited without authorization. Instead of direct advertising, we encourage approaching discussions from an educational perspective. Share knowledge, insights, and experiences rather than promotional content.

Ad Hominem Attacks

Personal attacks against other members are strictly prohibited and subject to immediate action.

Spamming

We have a zero tolerance policy for spam. This includes:

Repetitive posting of similar content
Mass direct messaging
Posting irrelevant content across multiple channels
Automated posting or bot activity
Excessive self-promotion

Profanities

While profanity is discouraged, it is not censored. We ask all members to exercise courtesy and professionalism in their communications.

Harassment Policy

DevOpsChat maintains a strict no-harassment policy:

No discrimination based on race, gender, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, or any other personal characteristic
No hate speech or inflammatory language
Constructive criticism of ideas and technologies is encouraged, but personal attacks are not tolerated

Use of derogatory terms will be evaluated on a context-dependent basis. We strive to maintain cultural sensitivity and respect for all community members.

Enforcement

Our moderation team works to maintain a positive environment for all members. If you witness behavior that violates these guidelines, please report it to the moderators immediately.
