2022 Compensation Survey Working Group Kickoff
About
Join us for the kickoff of our third (bi-annual-ish) survey focusing on software professional compensation, tenure, job satisfaction, commutes, advancement, and more. We're working on the 2022 survey and want your input and participation in making it useful and relevant to your career and life.
Yvette Menase, Director of Surveys, and Colin Dean, Managing Director of C&S, will guide the discussion covering what questions we're continuing from the 2017 and 2020 surveys, the outcomes we're desiring, the tech platform(s) we're intending to use, and more. We'll solicit your feedback on these and ensure that our goals are aligned with those of the community that we serve.
We're also looking for short-term and long-term volunteers who can help with the following:
- promoting the survey and marketing it around the C&S, Pittsburgh, Rust Belt, and United States tech communities
- reviewing data and writing thoughtful analyses
- responding to public questions about the survey and writing errata when we've made a mistake
- improving our authorship and graphic generation workflow to accelerate production of the final report
Compensation Survey volunteers have used their participation in the survey to learn new skills, to build empathy with their fellow software professionals, and to secure interesting work in product management, data science, and engineering management. This can be a meaningful résumé-building activity for anyone at any stage of their career!
The C&S Compensation Survey is an all-volunteer effort, but we do believe in paying our volunteers when we have funding to do so. To fund this, we accept individual and corporate sponsors. In order to increase respondent privacy, sponsors do not gain access to raw data but may have some influence on the questions we ask. For more information on sponsorship, email [masked].
