As for its speed, Python may not be the fastest language compared to compiled languages like C or C++.
Scikit-learn is a popular Python library used for machine learning.
If you combine new projects and the ease of use that makes the cost to enter development easy it makes a lot of sense that Python is very popular despite being slow.
