WebOps is a portmanteau of “web” and “operations” and, at first glance, appears to be a close cousin of DevOps. As the name suggests, WebOps focuses on the deployment and operation of websites and web applications.

Yet when I searched my Twitter timeline, there has been no mention of “WebOps” from the people I follow since 2020.

Ironically, DevOps was born from the experience of early web practitioners at scale, but often isn’t used for websites.”
