DUBLIN — On the heels of https://www.linuxfoundation.org/research/world-of-open-source-europe-spotlight?hsLang=en the Linux Foundation announced Wednesday that it is launching Linux Foundation Europe, seeking to build on its growing presence on the continent. The new organization will be led by https://www.linkedin.com/in/columbro/ currently executive director of https://www.finos.org/, the fintech open source foundation.

There are three reasons why creating a European organization made sense to the Linux Foundation, Columbro said.

The third motivation for created Linux Foundation Europe, Columbro said, ” is really one of just opportunities.”

“I’m really glad that this is the first project out of [Linux Foundation] Europe because I think it’s a very high-potential project.”
